Adding Roof Cab running lights

Hey All,

I have a 1999 Suburban 2500, It's never had Cab lights, i'm thinking of adding them, I can't believe I'm the first, so somebody has to have an idea... before I jump into it, does anyone know if the harness is ready to be plugged into (like the newer Trucks) or do i have to splice into it.

I know there are aftermarket light but I'd prefer GM, my dealer says he can get the original 5 lights with socket bulbs and harness but says he can't take them back If I order.
(I have enough boxes of parts as it is).

And have any of you added the new style cab lights (3 piece) to an older truck like 1999?

they are called Clearance lights and so far i not ever seen the wires ready to go. you need to measure and remove the head liner and drill and install the lghts and make sure you seal the roof to light area real well. then i run the wires down the drivers side windshield support down to a dash light wire for the dash lights or ac panel light.....mike
