We must have gotten about 10 lbs of 1/4" hail at my house. The side yard was like a 4' wide river.

Keep them down there Steve, we're just starting to get some nice weather up here. Storms always seem to start in your neck of the woods and reek havoc by the time they get here.

Hope you didn't get any water in your basement. (Do you have a basement?)

We only got rain over here, missed the bad stuff.

There's not many basements in Texas, but there are plenty of storm shelters around.

I've been here 9 years and I don't think I've ever been in a home in TX that had a basement. I've seen some root cellers, but those are just mostly pre-a/c rooms dug into the ground for storing vegetables from the heat of the day. The soil is so soft here that basements do very poorly, a regular slab foundation does pretty poorly as well if you don't keep it watered properly.

Anyhow, I have some photos but I can't find my USB connector. :-(

Yeah, the storms woke me up just after midnight. But I don't think it was too bad in the Austin area. As usual this time of year, it's left some awesome weather behind it. Time for another full detail!

We got wind & rain, but no hail. Sure needed the rain though.

Hardly any hail over in Grand Prairie, it all dropped in Mansfield.
Aledo got a confirmed Tornado touchdown that did no damage. (dont know how it missed all the trailers down there).
Did you see the pictures of Jerrys new car dealerships in Weatherford? 750 new cars on 4 different lots and only 15 missed getting damaged. The lot managers are running a scratch & dent sale Saturday.

I live outside of New Orleans, and we have plenty of violent thunderstorms. However the worst storm I was even in was in TX on Hy 287 more or less in the panhandle-150-200 miles West of DWF.The sky just opened up-rain was driven straight parallel to the ground, and the thunder and lightening were beyond belief.We-my dog and me-finally gave up and stayed in a $21.95/night dump in Childress on Hy 287.It was about 7 years ago.

The second worse storm was in OK on I-40- between OK CITY AND Amarillo.

The panhandle area has BAD weathe(good roads and rests stops in TX though)r!
Thanks,
Charlie

My fence has about 300,000 pock marks on it from the hail we got hit with. It's something to look at actually.

Friday night was absolutley miserable for me. I was up at the Boy Scout camp (when am I not up there....LOL) for an event doing gear transport in blinding rain in a vehicle with no A/C. :( I have no idea how much rain we got, but the roads were washed out pretty well up there.

We got more rain here the past couple of days. Got hit so hard yesterday AM when I was getting a cup of coffee at the local 7-11 ... I had to park inside a self-serve car wash for about 15 minutes to let the storm pass. Pretty crazy rain and winds again.

Just got a light sprinkling on my side of town yesterday, it stayed just west of me.
