93 Full Size Blazer, Stabilizer bar link install ???

While changing my oil I noticed my stabilizer bar links were broke, and one was missing. I removed the other one, went and got new Moogs. The problem is I can't seem to get them back in. I am installing them from the top down (as per the Haynes Repair Manual). I can't even get the bare bolt to go in the stabilizer bar hole and the lower arm hole. The upper arm is to close to move the bolt. If I move the stabilizer bar down it dosen't make any difference. Am I missing a procedure that needs to be done to give me more room ???

I'm convinced, anti-sway bar links are haunted in '93s. I even changed the bar in my '93 Burb trying to get a better link fit. I've had so little luck keeping the links fit properly, I'm probably the last person who should be offering an opinion, but...
You didn't mention, are you trying to do the install with the suspension loaded (tires on the ground) or have you got it slack (weight on jack stands and lower A-arms fully down)?
