Hello all,
I found this forum as I researched Chevy 4x4's. I needed something to get me to work in the winter during big snow falls. I have a 20 mile drive to work. I work at the Columbus Zoo as a groundskeeper and plowing snow needs done in the winter for the safety of our animals, keepers, and guests. My current vehicle is a 1990 Chevy C1500 Cheyenne with a standard cab and long bed. I have a matching fiberglass cap. Its a 2WD truck. It only has 114K miles and looks great, except for the rust forming around the rear wheel wells. I plan to have the body of this truck restored as soon a I save enough money for it. So its fun to drive in the small snows, but anything over 9 inches it just gets stuck in the ally behind my garage.
Since my truck is 18yrs. old I thought it was time for something newer, that is more comfortable for a family to ride in, and has a warranty. I found myself a 2004 Black 2-door Blazer with 38K miles and added a nice warranty of 3yrs. 36K miles. I love my 90 truck and it will take alot for me to part with it.So now I'm an owner of two vehicles.
My wife has a black 2007 Cobalt Sedan, and will only buy Chevy. She bought an 06 Saturn VUE after our daughter was born. She traded her 02 Cavalier for it. It was such a piece of troublesome junk that one year later she traded back for a small Chevy. We have many friends that own Saturns and love them. That is why we tried to own one. But I'll just say it was not a reliable vehicle. Now I know why the waiting room serves free soda, popcorn, and cookies at Saturn dealerships.
I look foward to reading and posting about my Chevys.
