I just bought a 2007 Silverado that didn't come with a trailerhookup. Just wondering where I would go to buy one.

Do you mean a brake controler? If so you can get one at the dealer but go to a hitch shop. Don't cheap out either. Get one that levels itsself after you do the first set up.

You should have brake controller wiring harness up under the dash. Makes the job of installing a brake controller easy.

I would recommend an electronic controller (rather than a pendulum controller). You can mount it anywhere and at any angle. I installed a Draw-Tite controller and it works great. After installing, there's a synchronization adjustment (rate of application) you make along with a braking power (output) adjustment. The written instructions made it a breeze to install.

The Tekonsha Prodigy, just mount and go.

Go here http://www.etrailer.com/pc-BC~90185.htm for installation instructions (at the bottom of the page) and controller information. It should have info specific to your truck.

etrailer also has videos on youtube for installations of hitches, harnesses and brake controllers. Be warned, it can be addicting.

If you are talking about a wiring harness for a trailer, check up under the bed in front of the spare tire location. It's a decent size grey round connector. There is a 3 male, 1 female connector for light bars/trailers. I used this connector for my brake/turn signal led bar under the tailgate. When I tow I just unplug that and put the trailer plug in. One of these days, I'll get an add on so I don't have to swap it out.
