projector head light issue

hi there forum members im new to the forum and i have a little problem.

well i had bought projector headlights a couple months ago and had them on for a month or so and decided to take them off. for the simple reason that they wouldnt sit right how they are supposed to on its spot.
i was wondering if anyone knew a solution or the reason that they dont???
the main reason i bought these projectors was because the stock lenses were yellow and i couldnt see much at night, and they actually worked pretty good. i just couldnt leave them on looking all uneven.

You can adjust the lights, there are a couple of screws you have to unscrew and then you can adjust the lights with the other screws. :rules:

ok what screws would i have to unscrew to adjust them it isnt adjusting the direction of the light that i am talking about. im talking about the actual headlight that instead of being even with the rect shape on the grill it sits more like at an angle

Did the lights came with holder or just the projector part?
You could try to keep the original holder and use the new projectors.
Aftermarket doesn't always fit correctly

you deff want to see about using the stock holders. The aftermarket ones are made of poor quality. I am surprised that you find the light output better too. In my experience the output is pretty poor, with poor optics to gain usable light output to the road. unless your old lights were VERY yellow a cheap HID kit would have got you better light output.

But, on to the mounting thing. WIhtout seeing exactly how they ase mounted its hard to say, but you may be able to just oval the holes out where the housing bolts up to tweek it up or down. If you have a drill bit kit and some washers you should be able to get the hole big enough to rotate a few degrees in either direction.

In case anyone is paying any attention to this thread anymore...

I have installed three sets of projector headlights. None of which were for a GM truck...

BUT! I have to say that none of the three just bolted on in place of the old ones without any trouble.

I did a set on the 2000 mustang that needed a little slicing and dicing on the housing. Once installed the lights wtiggled. So.... I actually stuffed some folded burlap pieces behind the housings to create a little pressure. The headlights hardly wiggle at all with the road bumps.

Did a set for the 2001 cherokee sport and had do to a little slicing and dicing on the back side of where the headlights fit to get back of the headlights to seat properly. There is a little metal ring that holds the headlight in place (square headlights.. whatever number those are) that both needed a little wrangling.

Aaaaand... then did set for a friend's grand prix. Needed to do the burlap trick for that one as well.

The jeep needed a little extra help. With the headlights in and even, when it came time to aim them they were more ****-eyed that a frog born in a toxic waste dump. In getting them "straight" the actual headlights looked crooked. I mean you could look at the front of the jeep and see that one housing pointed to the ground and in and the other pointed a little straighter but out.

It actually took my having to pop out the bulbs from the back and re-seating them. To get into a little more detail... I actually had to play with the socket in back of the housings and poke and prod and twist them to get the bulbs a little straighter. Looks much better now!


Not that all this will help you (or anyone else) but all to say that in the sets I've installed I've not had any projector lights just swap out from stock ones without a little work!

But for your fix it sounds like sticky got it right on. Change the orientation/location of the mounting holes - elongating them to make them oval should do the trick!
