Hey there,

Just got my truck and already startin the mods! I am planning on putting a 10'' sub underneath the driver-side back seat. I have already chosen the brand of sub, Ficaraudio SSD which I have had great experience with. However, I am having trouble finding an enclosure that fits the size of the sub and has enough volume to hit the lower notes.

I have read through a few other threads and all that I have come up with was an enclosure from "subthump.com." Looks clean and factory, but I have heard that with the size of the enclosure and the fact that its downfiring in such a small space, the sound can be muddy and unsuccessful in hitting the lower notes.

Does anyone have advice?? Would be appreciated :)

My experiance.....go to a shop and they will build what you need, designed to your truck and to your style of music and how it matches your full system.

It's always rewarding to do work yourself and get things modded on your own. Nothing but pride in one's own work. But I have to agree with vnc on this one. I hate having to go somewhere to have someone do something I know I could most likely do myself but in these situations it just saves you a LOT of hassle and guesswork. You may pay a few extra bucks but in the end when everything works perfectly right off the bat it's all worth it.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do!

too be completely honest though, one ten is gonna sound muddy with the low lows pretty much no matter what you do, think about two then go with the Pro Box set-up, very nice looking boxes

im very familiar with sound systems..from my experience 10" subs wont hit Lows that well..expecially with such a small box your only gonna be pumping out mids and highs... search around your local stores or even ebay to find the right size box to fit underneath..or you can also have it built to specs..make sure you get a sealed box...sealed boxes are made to hit all ranges of notes..ported box's your gonna have a tougher time trying to hit a full range of notes..i have a 15" kicker L7 in my truck with a huge ported box..i can hit every note with ease being that its such a big subwoofer and a giant box...bigger box more air to push..thanks hope that helps you out! :great:
