I have a 2006 Equinox with an XM capable radio (I have an XM button on the radio). However, the components aren't there. There is no XM receiver/tuner. Can anyone that has/had XM in there 2006 Equinox post the part number? It would be most appreciated.

Have you tried talking to the dealer? I know when I bought my after market head unit I also had to buy the adapter for XM as well as the subscription. If you hit the XM button does it at least give you channel 1? IF so then you have the components and just need the subscription. If not then you'll need an adapter which can run from about $40 to $75 depending on type of vehicle and an antenna. For my silverado it was about $50 and plugged right up to the back of the unit. I would definitely talk to a dealer though and see what they have to say.

My parents have an 06 equinox and there appears to be no other parts than the radio. They do have a subscription and use it. I asked my dad and as far as he new it was all internal on the radio, you just have to activate the service. Check your manual it may have more info or you may need something else that he's overlooking in his equinox.

hey thanks for the suggestions! Well I ended up going with an ipod interface instead, but it plugs into the xm input of the radio? Someone told me it was in the left rear panel of my equinox, but I didn't see it. Does anyone if it's on the back of the headunit itself? Thanks :)
