At this link to the Ohio Public Library System (http://www.oplin.org/auto)

enter the generic library card number

123456789

select:

Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County

then you can select the year, make, model, engine, etc.. of your vehicle and access the full repair manuals, wire diagrams, service bulletins, specifications, etc as you need them

TONS of great repair info for LOTS of vehicles!

Enjoy!

I just tried to go back to the site and the "Auto Repair and Reference Center" wasn't there anymore. What happened?

Not sure what happened here. I will lock the thread until it becomes available again.

I don't know what happened to the Ohio Public Library set up. I do know that several years ago, my local library was considering subscribing to a similar service. At the time, because I was always in there looking things up in the print manuals and checking them out when I could, they gave me a generic login and asked me to look at a subscription service they were considering and see what my opinion was. The login they gave me was only good during the trial/evaluation period (maybe that's what happened here, I don't know).

If you liked that service, my advice would be to go to your local library and see if they subscribe to a similar service. You may find that you already have access to a service like this. And if you don't, you could ask the librarians to look into such a subscription.

I tried through my local library but could not find my library card to access the site but I would think that it would be available through other library networks.

Here is another library site I found,
http://www.bedlib.org/ebsco.html, use library in both areas, Henry.

Click the link in Henry's post and then click the link for the Auto repair and it will ask you for log-in and a password. Use the word "library" for both and you get right in!

Hi all

I'm trying to navigate to my truck manual but have been unable to reach it.
When I go to the link, enter my library card # then go to the dropdown menu, there is no Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County listed.
There are a couple others there that I have tried but I have not found the link to the automotive service resource.
I'm seeing that it may be up or down depending on the day. Am I doing something wrong here?

Thanks!

THE LINK IS BROKE. LOOKS LIKE THE OPLIN HAS REDESIGNED THEIR SITE.

I tried to find the link while navigating the site and couldn't find it.

Please repost the link. Otherwise, AutoZone.com (http://www.autozone.com/autozone/) has some of the same info available.

For sure. I'm sorry to see this as well as I have used it many times. An alterbative is to access your local library online with your library card for auto repair databases. Mine is Chilton's online.

Well, I just found the new link--but you can thank all those that pay taxes in Ohio for making the Ohio Public Library system provide this service ;-)

Oh, one odd thing I just noticed--I went there, entered the generic library card number of 123456789, and then it told me "invalid card number."

I deleted my cookies, went back and clicked on the link to oplin.org/auto again, entered the number again, and it worked.

So if anybody else gets that error, maybe try deleting your cookies, closing the browser, them opening it and going to oplin.org/auto again.
