does anyone know if the 2008 sierra grilles fit on the 2008 silverados?... i wanna swap the grille and customize it a bit but im not sure if it works. i know the colorado/canyon grilles are identical and can be swapped and i really want to do this for my silverado

i would think they are close, the best way to find out is to try, see if your dealership will let you return an opened part and then just try it...or wait till someone else does it lol

i just spent a few minutes comparing them, i dont think it will. if you look at the bottom corners of the grill they are more square on the silverado than sierra because of a different bumper. on the top of the sierra grille the chrome bar is on the hood, it could probably be mounted on the silverado hood but the hoods are different and i think it owuld look funny. and the angles where it runs along the side of the headlights looks differnt. i think you would have to swap the entire front clip

how are you going to customize it to fit? if your customizing it you might be able to get it to fit. I saw a nbs GMC tonight and was kinda looking at it wondering for you. couldn't really tell much because i had my wife with me and i didn't want people to thing i was "casing" the truck out to steal. lol but i'll look around somemore and get back to on this.

ok, now i see what your saying, im sure someone makes a shell of that sort that you can put in without the center bar. if you wanted to you could probably cut out the center bar, fiberglass over where the bar was cut and have it painted then get a sierra grille to fit inside it. just a guess tho. $1000 is way to much for that grille.

There is a new grill out like that from Pilot/Bully that has verticle bars - chrome and tacky in my opinion, but you could probably modify it and put your own mesh in.
I'd say go with a Trex grill: http://www.trexbillet.com/index.php?sku=1051370&hdwt=31101&loc=101&dealer= but its over a grand too.....
If you need photos of that other grill let me know...I have the on file at work.

i actually just gave up on it after i went to a gmc dealer and closely inspected the two trucks... plus the dealer there said you couldnt do it cuz the bumper was different... :grrrrrr: so i just painted my chrome grille black and im pretty happy with the results...

I was looking at Putco's website. they have some grilles that look good but I don't want the GMC in the middle. I'm calling them Monday to see what they can do for me.
That RBP looks good - but 1 grand is about insane for a grill.
