Well right i drive cobalt because i lost my S-10 last year and i Drive back and forth to school, its good on gas for that. In next month or so i am looking to buy me a truck again. i cant figure out if i should get Colorado with Z-71/or just 4x4 or Silverado 1500 thats the same. i looking to buy used. money isn't the issue to much, if the gas prices don't sky rocket to much. I am looking for truck that is between 2004 to 2006.

well i owned a 2007 gmc canyon and now drive a 2008 silverado.... i love both, but my silverado gets much better gas mileage although the canyon was lifted.silverado has a bigger engine(new colorados available with v8 tho) and has more room and way more customizing options.

i would think silverado and also if your looking to buy soon or in the next couple months or so it might be cheaper with all the rebates and the new models coming in and with the warranty to just get a new one i would look into that before looking used

My son-in-law went through the same thing last year.....for the price, the Silverado was a better deal...a heck of a lot more truck fro almost the same money.
He gets 17-20 all the time and the Colorados don't seem to get too much more if you get a decent motor.
Silverado would be my choice hands down....more truck, more power, more towing capability, about the same cost, better resale, and on and on and on....

My boyfriend just bought an 09' Colorado crew cab 4x4 with the 5.3 Vortec, and that truck is a beast! He got it fully loaded and it cost him $33,000 out the door. On the flip side you can buy a real nice Silverado for around the same price if not lower, I think it really comes down to the style and looks of the truck.
GO SILVERADO!:glasses:

My father went from an 04 Silverado to an 05 Colorado and hated him self for it since then. He still has his Colorado and I got my 08 Silverado last year and now he has hated me ever since!!! My brother had an 06 Colorado Extreme and it was a fun truck but a bit underpowered and non functional as a truck, He now owns a full size pick up.
Go Silverado and dont look back!

We sell on average 3-400 silverados per year. Since the inception of the colorado we have averaged about 20-25 per year. That pretty much says it all. I have found the people that buy the Colorado usually do so because it will fit in their garage. That was not a joke..just the main reason people give me when they buy one even though I am pointing out how the silverado is better in almost every way. Then they finally crack and tell me they have to keep it inside and that pretty much settles it.
There is really no comparison. Silverado all the way.
As was stated above, with the rebates that are running on the silverados these days you can buy a new one for about the price of a 2 year old used truck. In all the years since the colorado came out they have never really had a push for that truck from GM in the form of big rebates or low interest rates. Mainly because most dealers have so few of them in their invintory. GM should have kept building the S-10 pickup. We always sold all of those we could get, and the public loved them. The colorado was a bad move all the way around for everyone.
Good luck with your new truck.
