wat is the biggest tire i can put on a 91 chevy 1500 4x4 stock suspension and rims without modifying the suspension or lifting/cutting anything? thanks

Standard answer for OBS 4x4's is 285/75/16 (about 33x11.50) usually fits. Occasionally someone will need to do a little trimming to keep those wheels from rubbing, so if you absolutely want no risk of rubbing or trimming, you may want to limit yourself to 32x11.50 (265/75/16)

really? i got 265/75/R16s on my truck right now. are the 285s wider? and did you cut out the fenders or anything? thanks

The 1st number in metric tire sizes is the nominal tread width in mm, so, yes 285's are about 20 mm (~1 inch) wider than 265's.

i had a 89 4X4 chevy silverado, ran 285/75/16's! no rub or anything!

nope didnt have to cut a thing. they fit the wheel wells pretty well tho but I had zero issues running them on the stock truck. however, I did have aftermarket wheels, but I believe they were the same specs as stock wheels
