So, Who in here own a domestic or foreign street car that they can also drive on the drag strip and run a reasonably fast time??
What kind of car is it?
What does it run :rules:?
HP est.??
I don't currently own one, but I'm working on that right now.
Used to, when I had money.
'03 Mitsubishi Evo

~400hp (purely estimating)
Perfectly streetable. Damn I miss that car.

I like to hear talk of drag racing, ROCK ON!
I sold an 89 Mustang a few years ago when our son needed braces. I had it dynoed at EJ's in Omaha at 240 RWH and it ran 13.0 @ 106mph. What a project- I bought it for 1000, not running. I rebuilt the 5.0, my first rebuild, changed from AT to 5 sp, changed to discbrake rear, and painted. It sounded SO much faster than it was.

Ole mustangs, alot of guys around here have just plain jane stock mustangs and try to race my buddies, 362 WHP and 416 WTQ that run's mid 11's on slicks, dodge SRT4... it's actually a good race because he doesn't get traction... but it's funny to watch them fade off into the darkness when he does...
I've seen a stage 2 subaru run low 12's, high 11's, easily.. so assuming you have everything tuned correctly you might just have yourself a low 12 second car. :great:

Haha one kid I know has a stage 3 SRT4, never gets traction. Another kid I know has a Legacy GT stage 2 that beats mustang GT's all the time. It's sucha sleeper car.

Does it have to be a car?
This is my 2009 Harley Davidson Nightrain.
Runs S&S 113ci barrels and pistons with S&S billet heads, S&S Dual fire coil system, carbon fiber 3" final belt drive, Stage III Screaming Eagle intake/manifold/injector kit, Vance & Hines big radius pipes, and a Drag specialities external oil filter/cooler.
For stopping the calipers have been converted to 4 piston calipers with 13" rotors front and rear.
Stock she dyno'd 67hp, now she runs 106.
Top speed is 186 wide open after an 8 mile stretch of open road.
She runs in the low 11's at the track, would probably do better if it could hook up.

Nope, doesn't have to be a car ( even though the thread title says so,)
That's an awesome bike, thats more my style. I'm not much of a crotch rocket fan.
The only car that has been able to stay with my buddies car is a fully built, fully gutted, on slick, H22 civic hatchback. And a 03 Cobra :gasp:

Well bottom end is built strong,,, Head is "massaged" crane 14 cams ( street grind) T3-t4 50trim turbo, RC750 injectors, ect ect ect. Here is the coolest thing,, ever since SCT came out with their programmer,, I have done away with the piggy back controller,, car now is controlled by the Chrysler PCM.
Oh,, and it's an automatic:great:
Talk about a sleeper,, it looks stock,, but crank up the boost,, yea baby!!! it dynoed at 389hp and 400 something tq. That was after 6hrs on the dyno,, so it was heat soaked something terrible,, and only 20psi of boost. I plan to run it at 26-28psi next season.

very good friend of mine had a 57 chevy 2door with a 520 big block set up for pro street he runs low 10's high 9's..
takes it to work all the time..
My GTO has ran a 12.2 @ 114 mph
I've got a 95 Talon TSi AWD that ran a 14.9 bone stock, and I've been working on it since.
I now have a full Evo 3 turbo setup on it, fully tuned, and I'm still making some adjustments on it, waiting for the warm weather to come, and I'll see what it runs now, after about $3000 worth of work. Hoping for low 13s.
Either way, it's a blast of a street car, it juts puts a smile on my face driving it to work, AWD is awesome.

I have a pretty nice camera though :)

that's crazy mid 9's in a car you can drive daily.
thats a pretty sick trans am, i had to sell my 96 WS-6, cost to much to fix up for a college student,
my buddy had and in the process of getting back his tsi talon, it went 12.9 at 106 i think? it had a small 16g turbo with internals and intercooler.
you guys all have sick cars!

Don't have it anymore, but I had a 96 Neon Coupe with an 05 SRT-4 motor swap with Stage 3 BC top end, and rods, ARP head studs, and JE Pistons. Hahn stage 3 turbo, MSD 2-Step with M/T DOT Drag radials. Never could catch traction with it, and never ran it at the strip, but it was in upwards of 500hp to the front wheels. I sold 'er for my Silverado and parts to build it up.
