I talked today at lunch with a respected research firm that needs to finish a market survey for Chevy and GMC Trucks. They need to wrap this up pretty fast so they came to us and are offering $50 to everyone who completes an online survey.

You have to qualify for the survey and then complete it. Only then will you get $50 for your time. You will also be entered into a drawing for $500 on top of that.

Quick Facts - Read these before you try to take the survey
New Vehicle Purchase. You must have bought one of these vehicles as new in the past 24 months.

- Chevy Silverado
- Chevy Suburban
- Chevy Tahoe
- GMC Sierra
- GMC Yukon

Qualification questions (you may NOT qualify to take the survey!). The first few questions are designed to qualify you and will ask questions about yourself, your purchases and where you live. The company running the survey is looking for specific demographics and they will not share that profile, because that breaks all the rules of gathering statistics!!!

In fact, a key piece of information includes how many people are qualified and how many people are disqualified. That's statistics 101 folks. If you don't understand or accept this, then don't try to take the survey. Do NOT complain here if you are not qualified to take the survey.

The survey is designed to be lengthy. It might take 45 minutes to complete. Make sure you have enough time to take it. If you stop short, then you do not meet the goal of having completed the survey.

It's not our survey. GMTruckClub.com is not running the survey, so you have to hold me harmless if you don't like the outcome. This is a very respected research firm, but you're still on your own.

Here's the link --- The Survey has expired.
P.S. - If you end up not being qualified, please refrain from giving reasons why you think you were not qualified, that will spoil the sample pool. Quite honestly, you're not going to be told why you were or were not qualified and those qualifications may change over time or depend on where you live.

P.P.S - The Survey is still open, but the thread is closed. Obviously, people don't read, you can NOT publicly state why you think you were disqualified from taking the survey. Also, people are acting illogically and jumping to conclusions based on information they don't have.

I would if they accept GMC.

Once the link comes up you can click on it and find out, but I was told it was both Chevy and GMC.

Well, it's a survey and they are working on the link. Not sure if it will come tonight or first thing in the morning.

Again, it's for people (must be 18 I'll bet) who own one of the listed trucks/suvs that qualify according to what they're looking for, and it's really a first-come first-served type thing. I can't make any promises for when I will put up the link, I have to get it first, but they're working on it as it's really a very time-sensitive survey, that's why thy're willing to pay out that kind of dough.

Also, if doesn't just have to be you, it could be your neighbor, co-worker, a friend or a family member too. You can send them here and they don't even really have to be a member of this site, they just have to own a truck/suv and fit the bill for the survey. If you don't qualify, maybe someone you know does.

I'll keep everyone updated.

Again, it's not "free money", you will be paid to take a survey, but only for those that qualify according to what they're looking for.

I finished it. There are a lot of questions and not all of them apply to vehicles.

I had to edit this page because it's clear that no one knows why they are qualified or are not qualified to participate in the study. It's a study that someone is paying for and they want to narrow it to a group that they want to target. To state reasons why you think you are or are not will spoil the sample pool and will cause people to disqualify themselves or be disappointed when they qualify themselves but don't go through.

Anyhow, we've got confirmation that some folks have gone through the survey. WTG.

Yeah, I'm usually pretty democratic and don't go around blocking posts, I've been running this site for over 4 years now and usually the only stuff that I block is pure spam. But, when it comes to statistics, you can't have people self-qualify, you just can't. If folks want to do the survey that's fine, if they don't that's fine too. Take note that it is a 45 minute survey, that's why they're paying $50, and it needs to be done very fast, before the end of the month, that's another reason that it needs to be done fast.

well that was interesting....will we be able to get info on what the criteria was when they are done with the survey??? im curious to see why some people are not qualifying

Steve

It's a survey, I'm not sure if they will ever let us know. Some folks are very happy to get an extra $50 in their pocket, some are bummed out they they're not qualified. However, the fact is that if the survey goes well, more will come from this firm.

I got approached by this company to do the survey and I knew that there would be only some that would be qualified to take the survey, but I didn't know just how few. It turns out that only 1 person made it through and finished the survey!

First of all, I appologize to everyone who wasted their time with this thing. I didn't know that way under 1% would be qualified and I don't blame anyone for being twisted, I'm twisted by it! The survey company has a good reputation in the industry so I gave it a shot and it didn't work out very well at all. I figured that at least 25% would make it though, maybe 20% at the bottom number.

Anyhow, I won't be going into one of these again without additional information that I can share with everyone before we start out! I'll still be searching for good ways to give back to the members of this site, but this obviously was not one of them.

Once again, sorry for causing folks to lose some time over this and to get your hopes up when it was clear they were looking for some very small people groups in the general GM community.
