2009 Chevy Silverado

I got a chance to look at the 2009 Chevy Silverado at a recent Car Show. Good looking truck, mostly a carryover from the 2008 Silverado with a few changes. Anyone get one yet?

I like the interior color scheme. Probably hard to keep clean though.

Big differance for me is that you can get bluetooth on the 09. I wish i had that on my 08.

I just bought mine two weeks ago and so far I love it. Its a black crew cab with a black and tan interior whick looks pretty sharp. The bluetooth is pretty sweet too. No complaints so far.

I just bought my used truck and it had blue tooth, but I don't know how to use it... I may have to read the instructions and that could take years..

The bluetooth was not supposed to be available on the 2008. New option in 2009 thats what the brochure says too.

My 08 does not have bluetooth.

Doesn't the 09 have a 6 speed auto now?

The 09 has a option for a 6 speed auto tranny with a new 6.2L v8 with about 405hp, that engine is only for the crew cab ltz as far as i know.

Almost bought one of these, but too expensive for everything I wanted. If anyone wants a fully loaded 08 they have one for sale here for 31,000 and only 18k mi on it.

I bought a new 09 silverado for 27,950 with only 110 miles on it. Given i only got what i wanted and nothing more. I like it a lot. Its a crewcab LT 4x4 z71, it has the 5.3 with the 6 speed. I didn't want it loaded because there was just somethings i would never use. Currently nothing fancy done to it. But I am pondering on a few things i might do to it

I just bought an 09 Silverado pretty basic though its the ls ext cab. I also have an 07 silveraado crew cab but no major changes

My 08 3500 has the 6 speed. I believe the 08's were the first to have them.

The 08 1500 did not come with a 6 speed.

I just bought a 2009 Siverado Z71, and it's a big step up from my Dakota. Much more "truck". I have the extended cab, and I like that the rear door windows roll down, and it's much easier to open the rear doors from inside. I love that the rear suicide doors open 170 degrees! The Dakota didn't do that, and it was a major pain to load long items like rifle cases into the cab.

I don't think I have Bluetooth. What would you use that for? So your phone can holler at you? I have an earpiece, for that. I like the mixed FM/AM/XM radio, but the Dodge had a better information display (distance to empty, MPG, and hour meter), and I don't have any use for OnStar. I like being a little higher up above the road, and I like the traction control and locking rear for mud and snow, and the skid plate for dealing with errant Volkswagens!

I'm not looking forward to replacing the 18" tires, and I really would have expected 4-wheel disc brakes, in 2009. I do like the additional storage, but I cannot figure out what the openings in the dash, or some of the cut-outs inside the arm rest are for. It seems odd to just have a rectangular hole in the dash, but it also has a rubber insert, with no explanation. Weird.

yes only the 2500 and 3500 and the new 6 speed in the 09 1500 is not the same as the 2500 and 3500
