08 Silverado keyless question

I just bough an 08 Siverado that came with power windows and power locks, but no remote for the keyless. Should I be able to just buy a remote and program it for it to work? or would I need to take any additional steps?

It's just the regular silverado 1500 single cab... not the LT.

all you have to do is call GM and give them vin#.
they can tell you if it has the remote module installed for keyless.
if so, buy a remote on ebay. alot cheaper.
