97 chevy 1500 problems help

Yeah, we have a 97 chevy 1500 4x4 w/ 350 vortec that has a slight problem. It misses and or pings at normal or harder acceleration. What could be wrong. Put in new plugs didn't fix it.

It could be anything. I would start with a full tune up first. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, etc. Then go from there. It's really hard to diagnose anything when the maintenance of the truck is unknown or questionable. Get a good starting point and see what happens.
