Hello all,

My name is Mark. I'm from Richmond Hill, GA (near Savannah). My wife and I each own a Suburban (mine is a 94; hers is a 99). Obviously we love these things.

I am involved in sports car race events, and my burb has done considerable tow duties. Neither has ever needed any major work and each has over 200k on it. I also own a Fiat Spider and a Honda S2000. I've had many Fiats in my life. They were always fun cars and as long as *I* was in charge of servicing them I never experienced an issue.

I'm here now though, because my wife's Suburban has a blown head gasket (or worse) and I am in the process of tearing it down to examine and repair. I hope you folks will lend some advice as I do this.

Small cars I'm okay with, but this big beast is high off the ground and as wide as a canyon across.

I've done a lot of work on the bottoms of these vehicles and I'll post my tips when I see the opportunity.

Regards to all,
Mark

Welcome! I've had a 1969 Fiat 500 for years. I live in England and my cars are all left hand drive. Even my motorbikes are left hand drive!

welcome to the Site. What engine does your wife's burb have?

She has a 5.7L vortec. The power steering pump has an allen head bolt in the center which I can get loose. Since the pulley rotates clockwise, the bolt should as well to remove...and that is my current roadblock.

Common mistake, it's not an allen bolt it's the end of the shaft, you have to use a puller to get it off, you can rent one at just about any auto parts

Welcome to GMTC and Good Luck! :great:
