Use your GPS to avoid traffic tickets!!

Ok, I know that the new Hondas will actually communicate with each other through the GPS system so they can avoid traffic backups. This looks like a similar type system but it works with the GPS to avoid speed traps!!!

This concept does work, I'm interested in trying it out for myself. I wonder if we can build up a GMTC base of trucks on the road to help out??? That would be wicked cool.

I actually saw this in a magazine and wanted to try it just never got around to it yet.

I don't think it would really be worth it. It just will alert you when you are nearing an area that has had speed traps before or when you are nearing a traffic camera. It might be somewhat nice if you drive through a major city often but I really don't think it's going to help you out that much or be too worthwhile. The new escort Passports have GPS on them and you can download the same data to it for free and it will alert you when you are near them. I have a 9500i but I think you need the 9500ix to do that, or at least that's how it was when I checked it out a few months ago. I'd rather just save the money and buy a good radar detector.
