Chevy SS Gas mileage

I am looking at buying a 2003 silverdo ss and I was just what kind of gas milage everyone is getting? The reviews are saying 12city/16highway. Is this holding true? I am just thinking once the truck is broke in it should get a little better, but perhaps I am wrong.

that sounds about right. 6.0 awd = bad mpg!

I hate to say it, but that's probably correct. They're build to be a little hotter, that takes more fuel.
