Owned two Toyo/Lexus SUVs, and now a Chevy Tahoe Hybrid. GM does it right- smooth power delivery and a nice quiet ride.

Never thought about it. I like what I have and think they need a little more time to get it in the bigger trucks. But if I didn't need this rig I probably would have bought one by now.

I need something has a little more balls to it than a hybrid. One day, if they can build a hybrid that will pull like my truck or spin tires like my goat, I'll absolutely consider owning one. Until then, gas powered gives me the power/mpg ratio I'm looking for. Not to mention, most of the them are relatively expensive.

Technically you could call my bigblock Z71 a hybrid because it burns gas and rubber :)

Drove my uncle's prius once and I hated not being able to hear the engine. Not cool.

Honda Accord hybrid for local govt. Car was getting 15 to 24 mpg and had lots of electrical issues. Would never buy Honda. Only thing that didnt break was heated seats.

Yup but no power & 2 quite.Not 4 me!!
First time post on this site. I received a mailer for a free gas card if I test drove a GM car at a local dealer here in Massachusetts. They would not let me test drive the Camaro so they suggested the Tahoe hybrid. The vehicle I was comparing too was my 95' Yukon. Then they asked "so what do you think?". My grandmother always told me if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything. I told them the seats were comfortable. Then I asked if they still sold trucks?
I considered a small hybrid/electric when I had a commute of 40 miles round trip. I would have that vehicle strictly as a secondary vehicle to make that same boring drive five days a week. It would never be able to replace the utility and dependability of the Yukon. Too often I hear about the impact of gas powered vehicles, and how little impact running vehicles like the Prius have on the environment. Wondering if anyone considers what the impact of manufacturing those cars has on the environment in countries that don't measure environmental impact?

I have driven both the silverado and the tahoe. I really dont see the point to them. They feel like gas powered vehicles to me because that is "mostly" what they run on. If you punch it, it is just burning gas. The only time it goes into electric mode is when it is in overdrive really.
The price WAY out weighs what you would EVER save in gas. Not to mention that most stores including ours did not get trained on how to service these vehicles. IMHO GM is not really pusing these models because they know they are not ready to service them, and know they are not competitive with the other builders. We had two tahoes in stock for this past year..we finally managed to dump them last month with the big rebates on them, and slashing the prices to WAY under cost. We wont be ordering anymore anytime soon.

I drove a Hybid Escape for a few miles, wasn't crazy about it. It was kind of cool how the display shows when its running on the battery or the engine and all that jazz but I don't think I'd own one anytime in the near future.

I like the concept of better gas mileage but i can't see spending all that money on a vehicle and not being able to hear the engine. I need a vehicle with some balls and a nice exhaust!:)
