Heading outside to install right now. Hoping my K&N Prefilter i had on my 57 series fits over this airaid. Hope this turns out as well as my 57 series, for all with my model truck, I'll take the beauty cover off and prove that the intake fits with the throttle body spacer.

Sorry for quality, from my cell. All done, took my time, and had a lot of looking around a messy shop to find tools. So took a little longer then i thought.

Will, do, I'm going to go to the pumps tomorrow and fill up all the way, instead of filling up half way so it doesn't hurt as much. But I'll fill up all the way, and then see the improvement i got. I drive like an old man, so i was getting pretty good mileage before, but i hope this increases my highway mileage, as i do a lot of it. Before getting my dual exhaust, throttle body spacer, and my intake i was getting 450km's per 7/8 of a tank. So that works out to be around 514km per tank. Or for you american folk, 320 miles. So, we'll see, I'm excited to see if my money was well spent.

I am glad you finally got the setup that you wanted to fit on the truck, It's just a shame that you had to take the K&N off. I don't know why K&N doesn't make a throttle body spacer to fit with their intakes, I bet they lose a lot of customers that way too. Well it looks like you did a nice install on it, although I think I would have hit the engine compartment up with some serious scrubbing and black magic!:great:

Shyeah! I know, i was like Holy crap that thing got dusty and gritty! I just cleaned it two weeks ago! That's what you get when you live on a farm, and like to use back roads.

You said it right sir, Pre-Oiled, I'm going to take it for my first drive today, I'm expecting a larger increase in performance from the K&N 57 series, just from the design of the tube, and the air filter, And because i have the throttle body spacer on. So, I'm very excited to see. Both performance and fuel economy! :rules:

Day 1 Report:
Drove 100 km's today, and used 3 ticks on the gas gauge, and I was driving like a maniac, seeing the power that the intake gives. So that works out to be 63 miles for 3 ticks, and with my grade 10 edumication in math, i got that to equal, 5.333333333 x 63 = 336 miles per tank driving like a maniac, or 540 km per tank driving like a maniac. This is only a rough estimation, as i didn't need to fill up with gas just yet. When on the highway, my K&N would make a loud MHHGRRRRRR kind of noise(hard to explain) when i would pass someone, but with the AirAid, it didn't seem to make the noise, i did notice a good increase in acceleration at higher speeds. After installation, i did notice my exhaust got quite a bit deeper, and a little bit louder, it kind of resonates in the tips i have on my truck now. I noticed some tiny bit faster throttle response, and also, when i touch the gas fast, i can actually hear the intake and spacer do the "whistle" from inside the cab, you dont have to have your head out the window now. But I'll test it after i drive it a little more. And those results for the gas mileage, is only the ticks, it's not counting the extra gas you can fill up past the full mark. like i do when i "fill" up.

No going back now, just sold the K&N 57 series intake. I personally think it was worth it to pay more for the AirAid, on the way into the city to meet the guy, i was going around 125km/h or around 77 miles an hour, and i pass someone and give her a little more gas, the intake roared too, but just not as overbearing like the K&N one. So, it's turning out to be a good deal.

Well let's see 3 ticks on the gas gage, on my truck that would be 3/4 a tank of gas the way I drive!

I used to d the overfilling thing too, until one time in my S-10 the gas pump didn't click off and it came running out all over the ground and the side of my truck. Shortly after that my truck died on the freeway, and when I had it towed to the chevy garage they found the extra gas had flooded the egr valve and talk about an expensive repair! Glad to hear that you are enjoying your new purchase, even on my intake I did notice the exhaust sound change to a deeper resonating rumble too.

did you restart your battery?
i was told to do this with my colorado after installing my intake so that the computer can read the new intake correctly... do you have to do this to silverados too?

Well, I'll give it a try anyways, just to see what happens, it's not like its going to hurt anything right? Well, i filled my tank yesterday, and it filled 84.5 litres, almost from empty, so thats
http://www.google.ca/images/calc_img.gif 85 litres = 22.4546245 US gallons

From google, so we'll see what my MPG is. Does that sound right? I'm assuming i have a 90 litre tank or somethign because there was a little gas left in the tank.

Didn't unplug the battery yet, but, i have gotten 200km on a little bit over 1/4 tank. So, It's looking very good!
