OK this is my first post here. I did a search but found nothing so here it is.
I have a 2002 suburban and my friend has a 2000 silverado we have the same issue with our seats. His passenger seat feels like you will fall out any minute and my driver seat is starting to get this way also. A local mechanic told us this is a fairly common issue with the seat tracks on all GM trucks and the only solution is to replace the whole seat and track assembly.
I know from other auto forums that there is usually a fix for something that is common so anyone have any ideas on this issue.

i have this problem on my driver seat, it wiggles forward and backward around a half an inch it feels like, i was thinking about taking it out and tightening every bolt on the assembly.

I had this feeling in the passengers seat on my 97 Suburban. I disassembled the seat track, cleaned it up, and reassembled it. During reassembly I tweaked the seat track with a pair of pliers to it had closer tolerances on the sliders. Havent had a problem since then.
On a side note werent you on the TTORA board a few years ago?
I remember someone with the same screen name.

Well it is not really a seat bolt issue that we are having. Apparently there is some kind of plastic bushing or spacer that deterioates and makes the screw rod of the power seat develop a fair amount of play. Supposedly this piece is not available and "requires" a full replacement of the seat tracks

Yep I am still a member over there I just rarely log onto it. I mostly hang out on www.Expeditionportal.com (http://www.gmtruckclub.com/forum/www.Expeditionportal.com) . My Burb is my daily and my Tacoma is my trail truck.
