Newbie here.
Ive got an 06 silverado with stock power-heated mirrors. Im going to buy the oem type extendable mirrors for towing, also with power and heated. My question is, do i have to take off the door panel, or do they plug in after simply removing the old mirror.
Thanks in advance

I changed my mirrors by removing the snap on triangular filler at the mirror on my 02 and then unbolting the mirror and then installing the new mirror. I bought extending mirrors without any electrics in them, and saved the old electric mirrors in case I stop towing with the truck, Henry.

Thank you henry. I am assuming when you disconnected the stock wires they were right there at the top? Im getting the electric and was hoping the connector was in reach without having to dismantle the door.

I had mine swapped at the dealer, it took no time for them to do it but my original mirrors didn't have a turn signal, the new ones do and the plug and play worked.

Trevor, what did the dealer set you back?

Did you do a mirror swap? What mirrors did you buy?
