Well I recieved the product in a timely manner as expected. Jesse and Hannah are great on customer service. I got the sct tuner with 3 custom tunes. I installed the Balls out tune first and right off the bat is was a lot more powerful than the superchips cortex tune that i previously had. I havent had a chance to test it at the track but I am sure it is gonna blow the compitition away. I have only put about 30 miles on the tune and it takes about 100 miles to fully relearn everything. As far as the way that they treat the customers and the amount of time to recieve the product they get a 10 out of 10 from me. I will be adding more as I further test the product.

Did one of your tunes include a 87 octane tune? Down here in the south with all the hurricanes sometimes you can only get 87octane, thats why I have mine tuned for 87.

Alright correct me if I'm wrong but you just got into 3rd gear when you hit 100 mph, damn the truck shifts at almost 6,000 rpms at full throttle each time. The truck sounds real nice with the cherry bomb exhaust in this video, what are the shift points when you are not at full throttle?
heavy chevy

They are normal just like an everyday driver. The video was taken going up a hill if it would have been a strait away it would have screamed to 100. On a strait away it shifts at 6 grand. Amy i told you that cherrybomb exhaust werent just cheap stuff. Let your dad listen and see what he thinks. And for all you flowmaster lovers eat your heart out go buy a cherrybomb. lol

Here is a few more videos that I took today on a closed coarse . IF you took a the milage indicator it is running somewhere in between a 14.5 and a 15.5 quarter The reason in the gap is because I have no way to tell 2.5 and the 1 second gap is me guessing where the quarter and the time make it. You tell me what you think about how fast it is doing in the quarte and 0-60 it is always nice to get another persons opinion. I had a guy on you tube comment to me that it accelerates about the same as a 4.6 ford what do you think. http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77mBEb96fuwhttp://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqL-U2blGdghttp://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuGRiv4S7-E

Any idea of what kind of performance gains you achieved? I was curious on what would be possible for my vehicle, can my shift points even be changed on my vehicle? This really caught my attention. 96 k1500 suburban. Thanks

I am not sure yet. But if you have obd2 he should be able to adjust you shift points that is one of the main things that is done you see how mine shifts.

I really like the way your truck is shifting in those videos, my suburban tends to do poorly with shifting, that is usually where someone beats me from the line because the newer vehicles have a more consistent shift points. So how does it work, does he put the tunes on a programmer than you can change whenever a different tune is needed?

Well when you send him your money you tell him what 3 tunes you want. For example. I told him i wanted my first tune to be balls out. Which i wanted all tq managment gone and i wanted it to be the race tune when my tow haul is off i wanted it to have agressive shifting when It is on shift a lil more than stock. The 2nd tune is supposed to be the tow haul azz tune then the 3rd is for fuel economy. Then he takes the tuner and builds it to your specific mods. such as cai exhaust nos or whatever mods you have then you get it in the mail. What did you think about speed wise what do you think it is doing in the quarter and 0-60 This is just a lil 4.8 and to me I am the owner lol it is dogging that pos superchips tuner i had before.

Just by doing a rough timing i got you clocked somewhere in between 14-16, hard to say without a good stopwatch haha. I have superchips tuner for my suburban for a week and could not tell a difference at all and returned it. since then i have been trying to find a tuner that I know will improve my shiftpoints and give me some extra power, i know it wont be much power as i am looking forward to better shiftpoints for the most part.

Cool, I didn't know they had an SCT handheld for the GMT-900's. I had a W4M tune on my 06 YD w/ the SCT and 3 custom tunes. Good stuff.

if you get ur tuner and its set for a certain tire size can you send it back and get them to reprogram it for a bigger size or would you have to get a totally new tuner

if you have the hand held sct tuner I think he just emails you the tune update.

I have been getting on this truck pretty hard and my gas mileage has went from 19.66 mpg to 21.49 per mpg. I cant believe it finally a product that does what they say. Hopefully it continues to work well.

Danget, they don't make the tuner for my 96 suburban. they only do the pcm reprogramming which I was trying to avoid because it would be really nice to just have it on a tuner to switch back and forth if needed to. The tune shouldn't raise my octane level over 87 right? Did they keep your octane level at 87 with those tunes?
heavy chevy
05-06-2009, 07:20 PM
if that is what you want him to do that is what he will do I run 93 in my truck but i have a 87 tune also.

I don't think it would be worth it for my truck to run 93 just because it is so much older.

IT wouldnt be so bad to get the pcm just ask him how much to keep your core. They are a great company and they will do what they can to make you happy.

I have used the stop watch and come up with 6.793 to 7.114 as my average in the 0-60 video that I have posted what do you think.

Just from counting I got in between 6-8, but most of the time i got 7ish. they emailed me and quoted me at $160 if i were to keep my original pcm, that is a great price even if i dont have a tuner because i can always just swap the pcms out and send the tuned one back in if i need it reprogrammed for a new performance part on the engine or a complete different tune. I am extremely tempted to order it here within the next few days. If they can change my shift points in any way, i will definitely burn my bros 08 z71 silverado, I can beat him off the line but once i start redlining the shifting tends to slack a bit and thats when he gains on me, i was surprised to even keep up with a brand new truck at all, id probably destroy him when it comes to towing though.

I did it with a stop watch an started and stopped with out biased and then i averaged them all togather all of the videos and tow haul azz and ballsout mode and that was what I came up with

Okay you peaked my interest in this place, when I went to their website to look around it wouldn't let you click on anything to view. I want to see this tuner, does it look like a regular tuner or what? I couldn't get any info on anything they sell, then I was looking at there PTM harness upgrades and they didn't show them either. That was kind of dissapointing considering they are in the business to sell, I don't want to e-mail the guy because I have no money for that right now I just want to look at pictures. What the hell?

You can go to sct tuners website and see the tuner and what they look like. Sct sends them to wait4me completly blank and jesse puts your 3 custom tunes you choose on it. Ill take a pic on my off day and send you one.

heavy chevy
05-20-2009, 10:26 AM
You tell him what you want. I got the tow haul azz 93 tune, the balls out tune 93 , and 87 fuel milage tune. If you tell him that he will do them for you. Tell him what all mods you got and what all you want turned of like tq management, traction control and things of that sort. If you get what I got you will be very happy. I just spanked a charger 3.5 ho with a tune intake and exhaust last night. They are pretty dang quick. Mid 14s to high 14s car vrs 5500 pound truck.

so will the tuner with the w4mp tunes on it, will it still correct for tire size and read dtc codes?? also does he do tunes for manual transmission trucks also?

The SCT hand held has 3 custom tunes on it, so it's not like a normal unit that you'd get from Hypertech where you make adjustments to the tune. In other words, if you want any adjustments made such as tire size, you'll want W4M to do that for you. Then you just load the tune you want and enjoy!
Although it does still read/clear DTC's and some even support data logging.
And I'd give them a call about the manual stuff.
