95 Burban 4WD 5.7 162K

Wierd thing happening a few times-- only 5 times but last 3 were shorter together in the timeline.

First time, pulling into the driveway, just cuts out. No power, no instrument cluster christmas tree, no power. Take the battery terminals off, ground them together, put back on the battery, starts right up.

Second time, GF is at grocery w/ all 3 kids. Errands ran all morning, no issues. She comes out of shopping, and no power. No lights, no solenoid, no dieing door chims nothing. Do the same as first time with batt terms. Starts right up.

Now I drive the Burban so she doesn't get stuck anymore

Last three times truck has just cut out was pulling up to a red light normal 30-40 MPH. Did the magic battery trick and BOOM, fires right up.

I've searched the forums as I am new here, and I haven't seen anyone else with this issue.

Please advise and thanks on the front side

I would start by checking all the power leads. You may have a power wire that is grounding out.

That would be my guess too. I had that problem on my first camaro way back when. One of my power leads was grounding out on the frame.

I had a friend that had a 96. After he put a new battery in it, it started doing what your's is. I traced it back to the bolt that holds the cable to the battery, it was too long. The aftermarket battery's bolt hole was not as deep as the factory battery's, so you could not get the cable completely tight. The bolt was tight, but not against the cable completely. I shortened the bolt a bit and he never had the problem again.

I would say replace the main line going to the starter, and look for corrosion on the rest of the lines
