now i know that all the newer non plastic liners like line x and rhino and such are sprayed on.. but has anybody ever heard of them being rolled on?? i was with my buddy when he was getting a tat and a guy came in thats a local mechanic and he does the actual rhino liners but he told me they roll it on.. he said they roll on the glue then roll on the rhino. im wondering about the thickness [these liners i know should be around a half inch thick] and the quality even though he promised it lifetime no peeling or anything. i live in the florida keys which would be similar to living out in the boonies bc we have to drive to miami for pretty much anything.. its also cheaper in miami but if this is a good price then i wont go to miami bc its 5 min from my house.. any input is appreciated

I dont think they go a half inch thick, but I know you can pick how thick you want it, my dad has done it on two trucks, one is an 01 Z71 and never a problem. And we get just as much heat and humidity as florida and add the -40 to -60 degree winters as well. I know the local guy here sprays everything

theres another shop in marathon about 45 min away that sprays it on for $500 which is about the same price im hearing everywhere.. and they specifically deal with trucks.. i mean i dont know this guy and his shop.. id rather deal with ppl that know what theyre doing and hey, if i gotta spend a few more dollars for it to be done the right way then so be it.

I paid $550 but got the top of the bed rails sprayed also. I like the Line-x better than the rhino. Line-x is a lot stronger and hard as a rock.

i just want to get mine sprayed so i have something else than bare metal.. my dad gave me my truck as a grad gift and he used it before for some work so its a babre metal bed with scratches and stains so i want a cleaner look to it but im also going to put a soft tonno roll up cover on after the spray on
i mean i could just have it sanded down and repainted and then throw the cover on but im young and so is my truck so ill probably use it for some hauling or moving etc so i dont wanna tear up my bed.. i also know the spray ons last longer than time lol.. so re paint or spray on???

I have two trucks sprayed with Rhino, the bottom of the beds are 1/4 thick and the sides are 1/8. both are sprayed over the rail. however i didn't like the overrail look so I put bed caps on them looks much nicer. I worked at a Rhino shop for a while it is a good product, now they haver another line that is similar to lineX hard. hope this helps

Yea never heard of it being glued in and rolled on. I would stay away from that. I had mine done by a place here in LA thats called Extreme Liners, it's a cross between the Rhino and the Line-X. I had the Rhino in an old truck and it would get pretty chewed up using my truck as a truck. The only rolled on liner I ever heard of is that stuff thats a little tuffer than paint but it fades out and wears off just like paint. Hope this helps.

The roll on is in-expensive, and does function well. I used it to coat the exterior of my 90 S10 Blazer and i would beat it against rocks and tree's and the occasional non-believer with keys. It's a good way to go if you have the time and patience.

High profit margin on these products and waaaayyyy over priced. 1 hour of labor for prep and 30 minutes total spray time and $100 for the material = $$. Save your money and do it yourself.

i just got mine done, over the rails for 400 and it looks good and can take a beating. rhinoline just came out with a new type of liner thats about twice as thick but its a softer composit and keeps things from sliding alot more. the guy i talked to said it was good and he liked it but bc its softer it has a tendency to get cuts into it.... then again if you get it done at a registered place its a lifetime warranty so it'd be free to get fixed. my bro ended up gettin the softer and it doesnt look like there will be a problem but just like the guy earlier said, you get what you pay for

do u know where i can find an instruction sheet on how to diy ?
The Rhino lining in my Chevy truck bed was sprayed on. It is not anywhere near 1/2 inch thick. Possibly 1/8". It has been in the bed for three years in New England temperatures ranging from about 95 to a low of about 15 below zero. It has stood up perfectly. I do have a rubber mat on the floor of the bed - I use my truck as a truck. I recommend the Rhino lining highly. Ironically the dealer that sprayed the Rhino lining into my '82 Chevy C-10 no longer does them. Apparently the EPA gave them a whole pile of sh-t about polluting the atmosphere; it was not practical financially for them to install the filtration equipment that the EPA wanted.

After a little research online it seems the best do-it-yourself bedliner is Herculiner. www.herculiner.com (http://www.herculiner.com) has all of the info and step by step instructions. There are few blogs with pics out there too. I just bought 2 of the kits from my local Pep-Boys for $89 each. I bought 2 gallons because I plan to make mine a pretty thick coating. I'm wating for the UV protectant get shipped to me and the next nice weekend I'm putting it in. It'll cost me about $225 in materials which is worth it from the $500-$550 I'd have spent with Rhino Liner or Line-X. Not that they're bad products, I just have a budget and I'm capable.

I'm going to give this a shot in my truck.. http://www.alsliner.com/ Do it yourself liner thats sprayed in, not rolled in. I got some samples of the material and its really rubbery and flexible. They've got a video and the prep looks like the worst part, if I can get over sanding down the whole bed of my truck it shouldn't take much

Has anyone had any experience with the Rhino Solarmax linings? I spoke to a guy earlier and he said that they use the paint codes from the dealer to match the lining to your paint. Rhino claims the product has the same fade rate as standard automotive paint. Price I was quoted for Silverado short bed was $389 for the Rhino and another $75 for the Solarmax which seems reasonable if it looks right.

I thought about using that kind of product on my old Ranger and decided against it. Glad I did by the looks of it, you should still be able to hit it with a Rhino or similar spray in 5speed. You might have to do a bit more sanding though.
