what's happening folks. I'm a first time poster. i have a 2009 silverado and its my first truck. I want to get an alarm installed with remote start and keyless entry. problem is i bought a base model truck with no electric. does anyone know if theres something extra i need to do with the locks before i can get an alarm with keyless entry?

If your doing the install yourself you are going to need actuaters tolock and unlock the doors. If you are having a shopthat is really good at doing this do it for you, they will have everything you need. I would choose a shop that specializes on alarms systems and audio equipment and stuff like that rather than the do all kind of place. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

i agree with TM, unless you are electronically and mechanically inclined, then you should let a pro do it

Take it to a good custom stereo shop NOT BEST BUY!! Get a compustar system, its alittle more but you will appreciate all the features they offer.
