Suburban Custom Grill

I'd like to hear from anyone out there who has updated a 2007-2009 Suburban with a custom grill. Specifically, I'd love to hear from someone who has updated to a one piece grill meaning that they had to saw off the existing crossbar. Was this as big a deal as it sounds? I'd like to update to a one piece T-Rex grill. Thanks in advance. DB
