tail gate latch

Hi and thank you for any input.

Never saw this discussion anywhere and was wanting to know you alls ideas about getting the latch to work freely. I took my s 10 tailgate off and poured oil down sideways till it ran out other side,..that worked. Hate to do the big truck that way really. Any suggestions?? You know the little wings that lock the gate when closing that stick when opened. Thanks, tinner

I've used that white lithium grease in a spray can, it seams to work pretty good on getting old sticking parts to start moving again. Good luck
