My dad owns a 2003? (i think, it's the last year they made them) Chevy S10 extended cab. And almost every year the door handle to open the read door breaks. It usually happens in the winter or late fall. Each time he just takes it to the dealership to get it replaced under warranty. But now i believe his warranty is up and i know that handle will break again since Chevy hasn't ever changed the design of the handle.

I don't want to watch him wasting money to replace that handle when it breaks with another handle that's just going to break again. So i'm wondering if there is an aftermarket handle that's more sturdy than the old one, or if there is a handle that i can rob from a different truck? Anybody got any ideas?

That's what i'm afraid of. It doesn't take much to break the handle. When it gets cold out that plastic gets brittle and breaks easy. My dad isn't the type of person that's hard on his vehicles. His last truck (also an S10) he bought in 1993 and had somewhere between 2 - 300,000 miles when he traded it in. I was hoping there was another truck that has a handle that's stronger and uses the same mounts as the old one. We may have to think of a way to beef up the old one or make a new one from scratch.
