Black Headlights

Was thinking about ordering some headlights off ebay with the black housing anybody using ebay lights or have any pics using black lights.

I'd like to know the same. Several guys in here have painted their tail-lights black but I am guessing you can't do this with headlights, too hot?

a guy i work with smoked his headlight and tail lights, head lights are HID, he hasn't complained about them getting hot

You can check out my headlights I got off of Ebay. The housing is black but the lenses are clear. Not sure if this is what you are looking for but I'm really happy with them. Just go to my pictures and you can see them.

a freind of mine purchased the black housing with clear front headlights and they are crap. they look cool in the day time but are worthless at night and you can barley tell that they are on when riding in the truck at night...

I recently bought some clear projector headlights off ebay; they're made by Sonar, I believe. Nice quality. They actually have REAL projectors in them, so with the HIDs I've got that nice cutoff line.

If you just buy the clear lens headlights though the light pattern will be crap. Probably what dzmolek (http://www.gmtruckclub.com/forum/member.php?u=25932) is talking about... the reflectors aren't made properly and the lenses aren't fluted so they just throw the light around everywhere.

I've actually got a set that work and look great, but have changed the way i'm going with the truck so i changed them. Have them downstairs in the box if you would like them let me know.

I smoked my tail lights and the only reason I didn't do the head lights is I was told, by my sister's boyfriend, that I would more than likely get pulled over for it. He works for the police department of the city I live in so I didn't really want to be pulled over on a regular basis in the city that I live in. I still have some of the paint at the house, I can check the bottle and see if it has like a temperature rating on it or anything like that if you want.

ok lets see. i have purchased just the covers off Ebay and i love them. you cant really see at night if you keep the stock bulbs in the headlight but if you upgrade to hid or something better like i did you can see just as fine as the stock lights. but what i did b4 i got the new headlights is take the covers off my top headlights at night while i drove. but thats just me. i believe you will be satisfied with the covers and if you dont like it on like to change the style of your truck alot like myself then they will work for you. i have a set of chrome and black everything for my truck.

just paint the inside of your headlights... it should look good its been done to my nnbs... or you can always go ebay... not everythings cheapy
