As of Oct. 1 this year, used oil filters in North Carolina can no longer go in the trash. The law applies to oil filters changed by commercial oil change shops and garages, as well as by individuals.

Wow that is really going to put a crimp in things for people, we always take all of our used one's up to Wal-Mart and they put them in a designated barrel. Who knows what they do with them though, probably throw them in the garbage! :neutral:

From what I remember last year it's hard to find a place to despose of plactic in N.C. also I drove semi pulled flat bed and loads of lumber & sheet rock had to be covered with plastic and I had to wait till I got to another state to throw it away.Silly I thought !
