Does the engine have to be on for Autoride to work?

Do you have to just have the ignition on or the motor running for the Autoride Suspension to work? When I go to pick up my "02 Tahoe, how can I test to see if the suspension works? Will I hear the compressor kick on by opening the hatch and sitting on the bumper? Thanks!

Just the ignition needs to be on, I have heard my air compressor pumping without the engine on before, but with the ignition in the run position. Also with you sitting in the drivers seat w/ the door open or the window down you will be able to hear the compressor kick on 10-15 (ish) seconds after you start your Tahoe. Myles
