Not my cup of tea, per se, but some of the younger folks might appreciate these. Personally, I'd like any one of those cars... Totally Stock... Stock LOOKING anyway..

I agree with you on the stock looking part Al, those cars just look silly. If you want to jack something up, get a truck thats what they are built for........

GIANT waste of money IMO

If any of you are familiar with where benton harbor michigan is located, I work there and live like 10 mins away. Anyhow there are about 100 of this type of so called cars running around. One particular evening when I was doing a ride along with the local pd, these knuckle heads decided they would shut down a main road to drive like assh&^%s, backwards, stereos pounding and hanging out the windows. All this while recording it for youtube. Needless to say we ruined their fun. They should of all been impounded for indecent exposure. They look so stupid it's rediculous. I love paying for welfare so they can get their rims, paint, and bumps.

Holy crap! They look like some of my kids toys. I didn't know they made wheels and tires like that. I wonder what compelled those guys to put McDonald's and Skittles on the sides of their cars.... Personally, I would have gone Jack In the Box and Kit-Kat.

I agree with everyone. Those cars are classics, our history and are completely ruined. The young people seem to like them, especially around here, but I will never get used to them. Those rims and tires cost thousands of dollars, and they are usually financed through Rent-A-Center type places for exhorbanent (sp?) interest rates.

Sometimes when the PI business is slow I do repo's for the local title loan companies and small finance companies and I've had to snatch a few of these. They are almost always parked in the driveways of completely run down houses that smell like old piss with sagging floors, moth-eaten and broken furniture and the kids are filthy and running around in dirty diapers, looking half starved to death. I guess you can figure out where their priorities are.

Oh, and by the way, I know it is mostly the African Americans who we see in the pictures, but I can tell you from experience, it is pretty well divided down here between blacks and whites.

Apparently stupidity knows know bigotry.

I agree with all you guys. While I may be part of the younger generation (18 years old), I can't stand this kind of stuff. I don't like huge blingy rims, rap music or trying to be "gangster", unlike 90% of the other kids around here. If you're going to put a lift on a classic vehicle, why not put it on a truck (like mine :p)? I like my country music, bonfires, chevy trucks, and all that. I wasn't raised on a farm or anything either. It's just what I like.

Tale that red chevelle (i think?), third picture down on the left. Imagine how it would look with some nice old school rally rims, a nice paint job, no lift, and a nicely built 350. IMO, it would look damn good.

Thanks man! It's my pride an' joy . And I've done every single mod myself since it became mine and was completely stock. (Well, it's not officially mine, still have to finish paying my parents for it. But the title will be in my hands in a few months!)

...WOW... I'm sorry but if I was driving along and saw someone doing that in the middle of the road where I was trying to drive I would plow into 'em with my bull-bar (I didn't build it just for show haha). Stupid stuff like that just pisses me off.

Wow. first off, i'm 17 and in this younger generation. personaly, i think all that is just incredibly stupid and selfish (regarding shuting down a dang freeway). and as far as young folk bashing goes, why are they (other than me) so lazy? they've got to be handed money and wont work for it. i live around alot of rich kids (i hate that) who's parents buy brand new porshes and lexuses (lexi?) and have never touched a lawnmower, nor have been within 5 feet of one. I work for my money, buy all my own stuff for my truck, and do all my own work on my truck. i have been the man of our house for the past 9 years and i cant beleive how much more responsibility i have than kids in this generation. sorry for that little rant.

Ok everyone, remember what the farmer said "to each his own" - I also think they look about as cool as pink socks and a frilly shirt, but they probably think a lifted truck looks crap. I look like the typical "biker" big, bald, (no tats, yet) but i personally wouldn't be caught DEAD on a Harley. I just think paying THAT much money for such OLD technology is a waste & nothing more that a 2 wheel penis extension. but in that I'm the minority - f - it, I LOVE my 2007 KTM Super Duke & would NEVER part with it. But thats just MY opinion.

I agree with you man. Aside from being the man of the house (that's my Dads job lol), I have the same feelings and do the same things as you. I'm going to college this fall, I have a job and bills to pay, and I know I have to work hard to pay for all of that. I'm not livin' on welfare in my lifetime, that's for damn sure.

They do a lot of cars like that in the next town, theres this one dude that got stickers made with curse words on them and stuck em on his windows like its cool or something. Honestly, i appreciate any one who personalizes their ride, but crap like that is dumb.

Thanks bro.. Those other cars aren't really mods I'd choose but I don't knock them for what they do. I love my homeboys nova, I'm looking for the right CHEVY MUSCLE to invest in myself.. I'll probably be picking up a project car sometime early next year. Thanks for the comments though, they are appreciated. When my boy gets done with his nova I'll post the finished pictures.. He just got it out the paint shop last week. He's working on a new front grill and weather stripping for it now. It was sitting in the paint shop for 2-3 months and needs to be detailed to say the least lol.. See you guys around.

Yep they look pretty silly. But,there is this Custom Motorcycle Shop in Rutherford N.J. on Rt. 17 South. The Owner took a Jeep frame that has a lift kit on it with either 33" or 36" tall A/T tires. He some how was able to put a late 70's or early 80's style Mercedes Benz body on it. You know one of those long 4dr. Benz bodys. Let me tell you this thing looks 'Tuff'. I,d rock that thing down @ the local mud pit anyday!!!!

well...welcome to Alabama. home of some of the most ridiculous looking rides out there. that has to be one of the worst fads of all time. they have no odea how ridiculous they look. we had one at our shop on 26s'. he had to do a 40 point turn to get out of our parking lot. i even asked the guy how much he spent on his suspension and wheels. he told me 7 stacks (AKA $7000) he had double the value of the car in wheels and suspension. i asked why didnt he just a get a newer car and throw some wheels on it? He said "but it wouldn't had beed dat box chevy dawg" .....i was speechless.

01-14-2010, 11:24 PM
Oh I hear you. That is popular where I am from as well. They like to buy 500 dollar cars and throw 10 grand worth of suspension / wheels and sound systems in them. Looks pretty riduculous if you ask me. Just my opinion.
