Here’s the pictures we took today at the Downtown Show & Shine. These cars represent about 1/5th of the cars in town. The way it works is most people stay at the hotel and show their cars there. So these cars are from the downtown hotels. There will be this many again at the Nugget, Grand Sierra, Atlantis, and Peppermill. So you have to visit all these places to see all 5000 cars in town. <G>

We’re going the other shows this week and I’ll add albums as we go. This is the first year where I plan to see all the cars in town. :glasses:

I havent been to Hot August nights in about 5yrs and that pink Jeep was a regular back then.

I was just thinking about this the other day and meant to ask you if you were gonna go out.

Tim,

I used to travel and always missed most of it. It's funny the pink Jeep along with a bunch of other cars always show up and always are at the same location.

Hot August Nights is the biggest draw every year as far as tourism goes and guess what? We're having a Winter Hot August Nights in February. It is supposed to be the biggest indoor car show in America!

Glad to see thier expanding on the original idea.
I faithfully attended Hot August Nights from 86 to 1997 when I transfered overseas, (we even drove a Navy van from Fallon to attend a couple of times). It's one of the best car shows in America IMO.
I think a winter show, barring weather, should be a big success.

It's bigger than expected already. They just upped the registration to 6000 cars. All the hotels here in Reno are sold out and for the first time the hotels inb Carson City are sold out as well. They say there will be 10,000 cars in town this weekend adding non registered cars and locals. I love it! :money:
