172,400 miles! My parents have owned it since around 26,000.

4x4, 3.73's, all power options, leather, heated front seats, front and rear AC, homelink, compass mirror thing, bunch of other options i can't remember

I have spent a lot of time this summer fixing it up. I restored the wheels and headlights as best as I could, gave it a full tune up, brakes, master cylinder, calipers, took out all the seats and spent abotu 3 days scrubbing the interior, and washed/ waxed it. I would give it a good detail with my porter cable polisher, but there's not much clearcoat left to polish :(

Anyways, it looks much happier now and it's such a handsome truck... now I just need to find it a new passenger rear door...

And I tried to detail the engine bay but I was really nervous about screwing things up cause it's not mine... so not perfect

And just because I can't help myself: this is what it looked like last summer... it looked even worse this summer, because it had not gotten a bath since!

I wish :(

I'm hoping to buy it off my parents after I graduate. I live out in the country, I could put a 4x4 to use

thanks for the compliments everyone! I think it is a great truck, I am trying to keep it nice so my family won't give up on it. I firmly believe that it has many more miles of service.

No doubt. My friends have 350K on their 96

wow that's amazing. the only think i worry about with this engine is that the intake gaskets have never been done and i'm worried about that. it seems to use the slightest bit of coolant

I bought my 97 with 75K three years ago. Now has 135K. I have not done intake gasket. When I first got the truck, I could smell a little antifreeze, and it used a very small amount every month or so. My former mechanic said, "yup, intake gasket". I didn't do anything. Friend suggested Bars stop leak, so I tried it. Former mechanic said " it won't work, intake gasket is rubber, not cork". Well, the leak stopped and the smell went away, for quite a while. Leak and smell came back maybe a year ago. Just kept adding a little water here and there, waiting for it to get worse. never saw a leak, but I did suspect the heater hose fitting on the right front of the intake. About a month ago, leak manifested itself big time. Heater core was gurgling, couldn't keep it full of coolant. It was leaking around the left head, front of engine. Spray things down to clean it up, really looks like the water pump gasket.

Replaced both gaskets for 2 bucks and less than 2 hours work. Tight as a drum now. I really should have put a new pump on, but I am going to change all hoses and do a flush this fall. Will put new pump on then.
