04 04 Silverado Radio Volume Not working... Help!!!

okay so today i was leaving my baseball game and i turn on my 04 silverado and the radio doesnt start to play so im like wtf okay... then my friend tries to put it up but when he moved the knob for the volume nothing happen absolutely nothing...:grrrrrr:
not even the lil square volume levels popped up... so i turned the truck back off as a way to maybe reset it and turn it back on and nothing again so i had to drive home for an hour or so with no radio...

does anyone possible know or experience what i am dealing with right now or what might be a fix

just get an aftermarket radio, its not worth the time to try to fix the stock one

yea i was thinkin of gettin one of those touch screen ones and just put in there... but today when i was leaving for skool it worked fine so weird... i guess ill just have to see and maybe it will do it again if so then just replace it
