Ok, when I bought the truck it was listed as a z71. But I dont have z71 stickers on the rear bed sides, I have 4x4 stickers back there. Is there a difference? If so what are they? Thanks for the help!

i am assuming you bought it used, you can look in the glove box and read the codes, or take the VIN to the dealership and they can tell, Z71 is stiffer shocks, skid plates and I believe thicker sway bars

If its got a 6 1/2' bed it also rides like a damn lumber wagon haha trust me i have one. either way Z71's ride alot rougher from the stiffer shocks. Deff worth it though if your off road alot.

It definately rides like a TRUCK which is what I want, I didn't buy no van wannabe. Its got skidplates and its got a stiffer suspension because my father-in-law has near same truck but no z71 or 4x4. When we hook our campers up his rearend sags even with a weight distributing hitch and when I hook up mine it doesn't even notice its there, no sag at all. Thanks for the help I will check the RPO's.

He needs to adjust his hitch if the rear sags alot more than the front.

Well I have a 96 Z71. If you have one you will have a rear locking diff, the larger tires and like they say it will ride a bit harsher. there are a few more things but I can't remember at this time.

4x4's are worse on gas, because it has to spin the front drive shaft along with the rear.
