I just cranked my TB's and i'm wondering if thats going to be enough to fit 285s. I can see that the front end went up a little bit but not a ton and i dont want to buy torsion keys if i dont have to.

what year is your truck? mine is an 06 and came factory with 265's and i'm pretty sure 285's would fit just fine on mine. but thats my 06 for whats its worth:rofl:

Mine is a 2000. Would the width of the tire matter? I think the rims im looking are are 9" wide.

I also have 285's on my truck but like a couple other guys here mine are on the stock wheels. If you go wider in wheel width and or change the backspacing you may start getting contact on the outside of the fender on hard turns and/or when you stuff the wheel. :great:

just put cooper st 285/75r16 onstock rims of my 01 silverado z71 w/ no mods and they fit great and no rubbing issues. great improvement in the look from the old passenger tires that was on. :great:

i had 285s without doing anything to the TBs. i did end up adding torsion keys and 2 inch blocks in the back. i now run a 295 70 17 on an 8 inch rim, with still no rubbing!

Yea, you should be fine, I know several guys with 285's with stock keys cranked and no problem, I had a set of 285 Hankook Dynapros on my truck with keys cranked before I got my leveling kit that fit perfect

I am going to try the 285's when I get new tires for my truck, I hope to hell they don't rub because those Mickey Thompson's are expensive. I am going to have them mount one tire on a factory rim and then rotate it to each corner and then see if it rubs, if not then I am getting some new Baja Claws. :great:

I'm confused here fella's...My truck seems to be stock and I am running 285/75/16's (stock rims) and they are just fine. Granted they don't have full tread, haven't had it in 4wd and tried turning super sharp (don't like turning much in 4wd honestly anyways), and haven't flexed the susp. enough to see if it rubs. But as they are it's fine......

EDIT: Here are the tires I have http://www.wheelsforless.com/detail.aspx?ID=4774

i never had a problem with mine either.i replaced the worn out tires as soon as i got it with 285/75/16 and never had rubbing..i added the leveling kit and AALs for a cheap way to lift it a little and even the front end with the rear
