Run-flat tires? Anyone have these?

I posted a similar message on the www.chevysuburbanclub.com as well. I'm just curious if anyone has run-flat or solid core tires.

Several years ago they were supposedly the wave of the future and all cars would have them. I've not seen any except for the ones on police cars and the Hummer series.

Anyone have them? How much did they set you back?

I remember the stories about how they would be the next big breakthrough for tires, but I've not seen them on anything either. Except for the cops shows where they do high speed chases and the bad guys get their tires blown out but the cops tires don't. :-)
