okay so i'm looking to go cold air intake on my 04 silverado 1500 5.3l. k&n goes for around 300 brand new i'm finding, but AEM Brute Force is only about $100. Is there that big of a difference, or does the brand name add the money? if there is, could someone enlighten me? thanks

ok my bad, it wasnt $100 for the other, the savings was $100 from a direct warehouse for that brand. but still what are the differences if any, and any recommendations?

All of the CAI's will give you some form of Improvement in H.P. & MPG.the Difference would be Mental intake tube's vs Plastic intake tube's.From What I've heard Mental tube will allow more heat than a Plastic Tube,as you want Cold Air entering the Engine. So that would be something to think about went buying a CAI.I have a K&N and I have been Very Pleased with the Performance I have Received from it.some of the other are Volant,Banks,Varoom,to name a few.

I just put a Spectre intake on my 6.0 Suburban and like the results very much. You can get them through AutoAnything for less than $150.

I have Banks CAI on my 05, Z-71,5.3 and like it alot. best CAI Ive ever had, a little pricey but worth it. Banks was having a sale and sometimes Jegs has rebates on them.
