I see it's an option on the 2005 models...the GPS system as part of the radio. Anyone have this or can recommend a good aftermarket GPS? I was in a friend's car that had it factory installed and it was GREAT!
Appreciate any tips!

Good question. I have been considering this myself as the family and I are making plans to do out summer trips. I'm also very interested if anyone has any luck with any specific unit that they like, or one that they don't like, etc...

A GPS might keep me from getting lost. :-) Glad to see that it's an option.

Asked the dealership about installing a GPS...wasn't good news. He said you're better off going to an aftermarket place because they don't have to follow the GM installation instructions. A dealer would have to follow what is basically the installation plan for when the car is being built...therefore, they'd have to tear apart your car to install it. All tolled, they would charge about $2000...which is MUCH more than you'd spend elsewhere.

WOW! You can get a handheld unit with a dash mount for just a couple hundred. You could buy a laptop to hook into that for another $750 and it would still be cheaper.
