PONTIAC , Mich. (Dec. 12, 2006) – Over 283 Pontiac children are sure to have a Merry Christmas this year thanks to the generosity of the UAW and GM Pontiac Assembly Center workers. The workers who build Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks purchased, assembled and donated 100 bicycles and tricycles to children in the city of Pontiac through a city initiative targeting those in need. Pontiac Mayor Clarence E. Phillips accepted the donation during a visit to the assembly plant this morning.
