DETROIT (Nov. 20, 2006) — On Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at 12 noon, during a brief press conference, the following organizations will receive the donations from HUMMER Division:
Toys for Tots will receive new, unwrapped toys plus a $1,000 cash donation
The Detroit Fire Department will receive teddy bears, which they use to comfort children who have experienced a fire
Children’s Hospital will receive three ride-on HUMMERs for their young patients to use to “drive†themselves into surgery. This practice has shown to help reduce the anxiety that frightened children can experience prior to surgery.The event will take place at the Wintergarden, at the General Motors Headquarters at the Renaissance Center.
