Ok this game involves a digital camera and you getting off your steno chair for a minute. Take a picture of your engine bay (cover up obvious badging)
and we post back on what motor it is (GM only please) Keep pictures sizes in web site rules.
We may get stumped along the way...good for some ha ha's.
Me first...Guess my mess?

Ok since you didn't cover up valve cover (Buick logo) I'll go with a naturally aspirated 455 Buick big block. (because of the forward distributor)

I used to drag race in my 20's (84 Chev half ton) I used a Street dominator spread bore with a 3" riser 750 holly on top. I used to love the hollow sound it would make (big cam) I'd love to hear that Buick Howel.
BTW I turned 13.2's in a stock half ton 350 small block. Ya baby

Definately. I see no reason to let this thread die, simply because it has to be GM. Let's say "We'd prefer GM engines, but any will do."
But then it's not my thread, it's Jamie's so it's up to him.

I think you have management in your blood! You had me convinced. I was about to go out, and take a pic of the snow blower just so I'd have a post.

Definitely a V8, kind of obvious. I'm thinking AMC engine?? but size, I'm not sure.
Ok, another shot? AMC 304 V8
GWAGON_99
03-14-2007, 08:12 PM
That is correct!! It is a AMC 304 V8. That is pretty impressive considering that the 304,360, and 401 Look identical (including the stock blue valve covers). However you must have done your homework and realized that they only offered the 304 in the '73 CJ-5. Good Work gentlemen!

definitely has the look of a big block. I'd have to guess it's a 454, but it could be a 502.

Ding, Ding, Ding, we have a winner. Step right up Patrick and claim your stuffed animal. It is indeed the 510 HP 502 Chevrolet V8. The most awesome crate motor you could have delivered to your house. (But wife might bash you on the head with a rolling pin when she sees the bill) :slap:
What motor honey...

If I was going to order a big block crate, I would go for the 632, and go really big and drop a 10.3L in my burb. only 900hp/725ft-lbs. Probably twist my burb up in a ball while idling.:ouch: At least then I'd deserve a rolling pin upside the head.
