Saturn is basically an Opel Astra build in GM Antwerp Belgium
It’s specially made for the American market.

It's not a lot of power, but it wouldn't matter if the power to weight ratio is good. Looks like a very light weight car.

I don't know what that Saturn weighs, but assuming it's about the same as an Audi TT, or BMW Roadster then it's in the neighborhood of 2500lbs, which would put it about 14.1:1.
The 2000 Audi TT has a weight to hp ratio of 11.8:1
The 2000 BMW Roadster is 12.1:1

Comparitively the '93 Suburban is 22.8:1 (2wd) or 24.3:1 (4x4)

I'm not trying to change the subject, and I would probably choose my Yukon over my bike but since we're talking numbers... an '06 VFR Interceptor has a 4.3:1 ratio.

Well yes, that is very true. But it's not much good if you have to chase the little vehicle down to run it over.

I don't see the problem Steve. It's got plenty of headroom, since it's convertable. Just because you can't hold the wheel because your knees are in the way, is no reason to avoid buy the car.

Don’t laugh.

Steve, yes you will fit, hell you will fit in my Fiero comfortably.

We have guys, and gals on my fiero forum that are 6’4” that drive them..

Also my 86 Fiero SE V6 Has about 150 HP weights about the same.

Does 0 to 60 in about 7.5 seconds. Granted that’s not light speed or as good as a Vet. But if the Saturn is built similar to the Fiero in has a super structure. The reason it weights so much for such a small car.

The fiero will out maneuver most sports cars. Because of it wide track stance. It will beat a Corvette, or Ferrari on a g force skid pad, and beat them both in the slalom course.

Define comfortably. My '97 Trans Am WS6 was driveable but I wouldn't even go as far as comfortable, especially on a long trip. Also are you saying that you would rather have a Fiero over a Vette? :)

I’ve had both, right now we have the 86 SE V6.

We had the 76 Vet., last of the Stingrays. I think inside it was smaller, a lot harder to get in and out of, (with the T tops in) ride was harder.

As far as driving comfort, the Fiero seat are thicker, and more rap around. Keeps you in the seats better in those quick turns.

Not saying I would rather have one than the other just that the fiero was easier to get in and out of, and a lot more comfortable on a long ride.

Comfort on a long trip, If it’s more than 2 hours away I take the Burb. I never said they were comfortable.

When you buy a 2 seater sports car you are not buying it for comfort.

Why do you think we own so many different vehicles?

No I have an ITS trail right next to my house that goes all the way to Canada.

So you could make it all the way on your sled.

Well if he is up there we have quite a few members in Canada on the PFF site that are more than happy to help.

Quote: Toronto, Ontario (Wednesday, February 14, 2007) - The Saturn Sky Red Line was honoured today by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) as the “Best New Design” for 2007 in an awards ceremony at the Canadian International Auto Show.

“We’re thrilled with AJAC’s recognition of the Sky Red Line’s design, which is further evidence of the design renaissance taking place across GM’s line-up,” said Arturo Elias, President of GM of Canada. “The Sky Red Line is part of the complete reinvention of Saturn’s product lineup, offering more power, sportier driving dynamics, combined with a bold design and driver-focused interior.”

Since it was first introduced less than a year ago at the 2006 New York Auto Show, the Sky Red Line has evoked a passionate response from consumers and automotive journalists alike. With its dynamic design and quick and agile performance, the 2007 Sky Red Line delivers a bold message about the next generation of vehicles from Saturn.

For comfort on long trips, nothing was better than the big bench seat of the suburban. More legroom than you need and you don't feel all cramped.

Right now I drive the cavalier back and forth to work. It's 14 miles each way, so I'm only putting on about 30 miles per day. That's about enough for me in that little car. I have driven it longer and farther, but mostly it's just getting me to work and back with about 32-33 MPG.

I don't think it needs a bigger motor, I think it just needs to be tuned for a little more power. A sweet little garrett T20 or T25 in there, and maybe a hotter cam, and I think you'd have the makings for some white knuckles.
