By 2005, Chevy started getting much better mileage out of the Cavalier. From 1999 until 2005 this is a 20% gain in economy. That's good for this vehicle, because people like me drive it for a cheap commuter car.

Are you thinking about trading your 99 in for a newer one?

Nah, I'm going to run that thing into the ground. The car isn't worth much for a trade-in, although it had low miles for a 99 (only 71k miles). That's only like 8800 miles per year on average.

We are thinking of something with a third seat to make hauling people better.

Got anything in mind? Burb is a great option, but with gas prices the way they are, it might not be a prime choice.
You could always go for one of those xl7's but I hear they're cramped, and under powered.

We're re-evaluating our goals. The only thing we tow is the utility trailer, but we may look into a pop-up trailer. Hopefully we'll be settled down financially in the next year or two so we can start taking more trips and get out and see the world again.

Right now, it looks like my wife would vote for a mini-van. Some of the newer vans get pretty good gas mileage, have decent power, and the room is of course good enough. Plus with all of the plusses like dual sliding doors, bucket seats, dvd players, rear air and what not, they're pretty comfortable...however it's still a minivan.

Fuel costs might preclude us from making the move to something bigger that gets worse mileage than the TB. Of course, we don't drive it nearly as much as we used to.
