When i was looking for a K5 i had a wide range of years to look at. Mostly 1986 to 1991. The grill is about the easiest way to tell. Everything else is pretty much the same

BTW nice ole trick. I haven't seen someone do that in a long time. Brought back some memories.

LOL.....Same here. Tall KnN filter + fliped lid = free flow intake.
Here in Az. they fail you on emmisions for that but it's only 60 seconds to change over.
BYW, nice headers too from what we can see of'em.

When I flip the lid on my K&N setup I get a sweet sound but poorer performance. Guess I'll have to open up the exhaust before flippin' my lid will help.

Well to tell you the truth it's only flipped because i lost the plastic tube that goes to the air filter. Seems like it sucks hot air instead of cool from tube.

The headers are ceramic coated Hedman's
