hie verybody again, my neihgbor has a tahoe 1997 and he had a trouble with truck. He received a code 1187 or 187 (meybe) in a computer scan. And in my town nobody knows what the code means and what he must to check/repair or change. Help us.
Another question: how many money are paying for a galon super gasoline?

we are paying here about 4 US$ per galon.

Bye and thanks

Code 1187 is either "Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Circuit Voltage Low" or "Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Circuit Voltage Low". I don't think the 97 Tahoe had a oil temp sensor, so it is probably the oil pressure sensor. Does your gauge show low?

I paid $3.03 this morning for mid-grade.

Where are you located?

Sorry, but what you mean with mid-grade, 95 octanes, 93 or other?

We have 87 to 93 octane here. Mid grade is around 90. Wish we had some 95.

Cableguy, I show the code that you described to be P1161, not P1187.

As long as you're not a beer shy of a 12-pack everything is alright. ;)
